Meet Me

Sylvia is a retired elementary teacher whose years in the classroom inspired a love of children's picture books and the stories that spark young imaginations. After spending years writing report cards filled with educational jargon, she was eager to trade formal language for stories that are playful, heartfelt, and fun.

Her teaching career provided endless inspiration, proving that there is never a dull moment when you're surrounded by children. Several of her humorous articles have been published in Postscript magazine for BC educators, and she is now focused on writing picture books for young readers. She currently has three picture book manuscripts on submission.

 

When she's not writing, Sylvia volunteers with School District 73's Read With Me program, attends writers' conferences, takes courses through the Federation of BC Writers, and enjoys the encouragement of her regular writing group. She loves spending time with her daughter and grandson—and still holds out hope of winning the lottery someday.
