2026 Kamloops Writer in Residence

George Johnson will be the next writer-in-residence for the fall season at the Kamloops Main Library. His sessions start September 17 and run every second week until December 15. He retired from Thompson Rivers University as Professor Emeritus, where he taught creative writing and modern literature. His writing runs from stage to screen, including children’s literature and cultural work. He has been published in many languages and has received many awards. In 2019, he earned the YMCA Peace Medal for his work in literature creating empathy. Our writing group is excited to work with him. His workshops are for anyone interested in writing. Come join us!
